Nail Hill Australian Cattle Dogs

Real Cattle Dogs that are tough as nails....

Jun 2015

Top 20 !!!

Just received the news that Hoshi (our current special female) has reached the top 20 in AKC all breed rankings for Cattle Dogs.
This is quite an accomplishment for a girl who just turned two years old, as the Herding Group is a tough group to show in, with lots of well known breeds competing like German Sheperds and Old English Sheep Dogs getting most of the looks and placements.
Hoshi doesn't care about that one bit, guided by her best friend and handler Jennifer Bittner they compete with the best of them.

Looking forward to Hoshi maturing even more and showing that quality to the world……

Only two more places to reach...

Just received Hoshi's group 2 win pictures.
While it's very true that we as owners/breeders see all our
dogs faults very clearly, it's also true that things such as correct structure does not change even when
items such as seasonal coat shedding or female cycles do occur.

This was brought home to me when I looked at these photos and saw what the judges saw, not what I saw before
Hoshi went into the ring.

Guess it's okay if our eyes are the most critical as long as we don't let it blind us of the good things that are still there.

Future additions

Looking at many other ACD websites and most have breed standard info and other types of "personality" documents.
We are trying to figure out what, if any, of this is to be put on our Nail Hill site.
Certain we will add something like this in the future just not sure what quite yet, as hopefully we can add something that goes beyond the normal stuff that is already available in so many places.

Does our site really need another breed standard? Do we really need to tell people again how an ACD is not for everyone?

Maybe so…..Maybe not……
